VEGA BAJA COAST
The Vega Baja region has over 50 kilometres of coast with an abundance of fine sandy beaches. The most important towns in the area are Torrevieja and Guardamar del Segura.
Torrevieja is one the main tourist points of the Costa Blanca. Guardamar have a wide expanse of dunes stretch to the sea with crystal-clear water on beaches such as La Roqueta, El Moncayo and Els Vivers, all holders of the Blue Flag. The nature reserve of the lagoons of La Mata, the marina and the rich farmland are complemented by the friendly and hospitable inhabitants of this town, fishermen and farmers, whose population currently stands at 11,000.
Their customs and gastronomy are also a great attraction for visitors and the traditional cuisine is a faithful reflection of their activities.
