VEGA BAJA COAST
The Vega Baja region has over 50 kilometres of coast with an abundance of fine sandy beaches. The most important towns in the area are Torrevieja and Guardamar del Segura.
Torrevieja is one the main tourist points of the Costa Blanca. The average yearly temperature is 20ºC.Along with the good weather, the town takes pride in its well kept beaches that have had the Blue Flag for years, with bathing areas which have been recommended by the Economic European Community for the quality of the water and the amenities.

Guardamar have a wide expanse of dunes stretch to the sea with crystal-clear water on beaches such as La Roqueta, El Moncayo and Els Vivers, all holders of the Blue Flag. The nature reserve of the lagoons of La Mata, the marina and the rich farmland are complemented by the friendly and hospitable inhabitants of this town, fishermen and farmers, whose population currently stands at 11,000.
Their customs and gastronomy are also a great attraction for visitors and the traditional cuisine is a faithful reflection of their activities. Fish and vegetables are skilfully combined in varied and tasty dishes such as ‘arroz a banda’ (rice with seafood), ‘caldero’ (fish stew), ‘arroz huertano’ (rice with vegetables), and all kinds of salads, fish and seafood which will delight even the most demanding palate.
Visitors can choose from a complete range of services and there are numerous restaurants, hotels and shopping centres. The golf courses and the sailing club also offer a varied range of activities for those keen on sport.
